A big shout out goes to the team at NB for making this a reality and in particular the gnar lad with many names already has just earned himself another for his insane efforts and single minded focus to construct it. Well done Ruari "Rawdog" aka "Transfer" Aka "the Mexican" aka "Fakie" "the Flying Burrito" and now aka "the Vert Vundubar" Britree!

To celebrate here's a little throw-away photo (full write up coming end of the month) with "the Vert Vundubar" testing the transition out with a FS grab

Most of you already know but just incase you didn't SYB's first Concrete Slayer Demon Overlord:- Colin Adam rips it insanely hard every time he shreds. So it was no exception on the first skate of the new bowl at Transgression last thursday.

This sunday the lads at Transgression are putting together a skate comp to open the new bowl... 6pm until 10pm. £10 to skate. £3 to watch radness. If you can I'd defo advise getting a slash in on the jelly bowl!! SYB out.

So for a good 7 to 8 years, that I have known SYB's first Concrete Slayer Demon Overlord I've witnessed some of THE most insane, inspiring and just plain fucking balls out skating i've ever seen. He skates 100mph, grinds like a wild beast and goes for shit most people could only dream of doing. But more importantly everytime i've skated with him he's always the first one getting tore in, never moans and just gets on with it - even if we are skating some rough ass - shit bank spot i've found. He's a true ruler. To put it simply the shralp is in his blood.

Well me and my girlfriend Steph have recently had our first child so thats been taking up alot of time the now, also been workin like a bastard, feels like am never oot the fuckin place and i passed my driving test a couple of months ago. Other than that ive been trying to skate as much as possible and go film with zander for his video.

Growing up in carluke definately made me the way i am today ,didnt really skate tat much in carluke until the park was built my dad or anybody we could get a lift with would take us to livi or something.those days were golden shredding all summer puffing mad herb drinking beers with all the locals,sick.pretty much the same thing happened at carluke i suppose.

SYB @ the new Transgression

Recently SYB hit up the new Transgression Indoor Skate Park in Edinburgh. The park has moved from leith to a more central location. Plus it's had a fresh coating of really nice wood. As well as a few tweaks to the layout! The main area to the park is finished and they are well on the way to getting the bowl done.

Overall the park is looking good, plus the new ply means more speed and more shralping! Membership is £25 - probably worth it if your a local this winter.

Paris and Rawdog gave the new mini ramp area a thrashing, especially the extension. Example A below:-

The kirkintiloch skate comp went down on sunday... over £400 bangers in prizes up for grabs so there was some good shredding going down. But without a doubt in anyones mind the best part of the day had to be the over 30's comp. Just like to say well done to everyone in that jam - it was fucking awesome to watch. It was the way that the place should have been skated - going for broke! MVP of the day had to deservedly go to Youngo who was totally ripping it from start to finish, trying to land everything, massive respect treebeard!

Weekend Summer Edit

The fine lads over at GSS have knocked together a sick edit of Glasgow shredders hitting spots in and around the town. Good to see some fresh street skating. KILLIN' THE KIRK 2011

Killing 2 birds with one stone I thought I would give all you Shralpers a special treat of a sequence from this years "KILLIN' THE KIRK" and give you a summary of what went down. And in the process maybe motivate more demons to hit up some of the remaining comps happening in Scotland. As the Falkirk Jam was fairly quite this year.

To keep it short and sweet, Youngo (the overlord of Shralp) managed to organise as much as he could for the Jam so it was possible, with some tunes and a few prizes, plus SYB was in hand to make an inpromtu "Golden shred log" for the best skater of the day....!

Proceedings started with a mini ramp sessions with some spastic on the mic trying feebily to shout some motivational comments out which resulted in every 3rd word being a sweary fucking one! Everyone was killing it, especially the wee dudes - who seem to now be coming full circle and doing sweepers/old school shit on ramps again?! Fucking class I say. Plus the kirk locals were in good form, some random wee ginger kid throwing down 360 flip rock fakies?! Then the usual comp rippers put on a show... Tbag, Socks, Cannibal Col, Dunder, kerr, Ingles, Kieron Menzies, Freddy L, Andy White, Youngo, loads of other dudes and Wu-tang, who for the record ain't 100% fit still but pulled out an insane blunt to fakie 50-50 down the edge of the mini... go there and look at that bit. Wu-tang loves some crazy ass tricks.

Then the big quarter to bank session kicked off after, with some insane transfers getting landed. Stands out were wWilmot with some meaty Ally-oop back 180 lien to tails, Colin doing insane BS melon transfers, Menzies who blew the roof off and stepped up the Demonic skating levels by BS airing the quarter to far bank with a fucking huge transfer, Tbag doing the most relaxed noseblunt i've ever seen...................................................... and then there was Bobby Bailey, who came out of nowhere and went mental.

The overall shralp of the day went to Andy White who got the "Golden shred log" - well done mate! But everyone was ripping hard. So if you get the chance, make sure you try and come to at least 1 comp, as it's a sign of how the skate scene in Scotland is holding together. Bring some brews, yer board and have a shred at different park - it's worth it! And to demonstrate why here's Bobby Bailey going fucking nuts.
